The Terracotta Art In A Shiva Temple

Posted by
Subhendu (Berhampore, India) on 7 March 2011 in Art & Design and Portfolio.

It is a Shiva Temple situated at Saidabad. It is a personal property, but the age and history of this temple is unknown to the owner also. It has a superb orientation of terracotta art, which can be seen in many parts of our state, i.e, West Bengal. Recently it is restored by Archaeological Survey Of India. After restoration, when I visited it, I was facincted with its beauty. Now, I am presenting it with a clear sky. it Hope you'll also like it.

i'm sure that I like it! it looks "new" to me, measured by indian standards, i.e. 19th century perhaps? but of course i am no expert in indian art and architecture! what i particularly like about your picture is the clever angle and crop, and of course the silhouettes of the plants!
